SWTOR: The Bounty Hunter

So for those of you who know me, you will know I wasn't always Professor Clutch the Fury Warrior. When I started my MMO life in wow, I was a Hunter. I have always had a soft spot for hunters ever since to the point that I have 2 of them. But enough about that...

Today I started a Bounty Hunter, its level 8 at the moment I haven't played it long. My plan will be to go into Mercenary, but oh my god. Playing melee seemed like a good idea when I started this game, but the stresses with obvious clunky play gives me problems with movement ect... So ranged seemed like more of a good idea. It was...

Already at level 8 I have some extremely over powered abilities. Explosive Dart, then Rail Shot, boom that mobs dead and the guys around him are also now at like 10%. I Know it won't scale like that once I'm a bit higher, but wow... I am having fun with this class. I can't wait to progress farther.

Playing this game has been so addicting that my sleep pattern seems to have gone around the clock, I woke at 7pm and its now 11:30am... I have to go bank then will sleep.

I have found lately since playing this game I've had parts of the soundtrack stuck in my head, my inner monologue/narration (yes I think like JD from scrubs) now doesn't speak with my own voice but my characters voice, I've had nightmares of passed enemy's from wow stalking me in swtor, and I've had dreams of playing the game... So obviously no health benefits here.

I've also had the following 2 things stuck in my head too.

First, Weird Al Yankovic - The Saga Begins... Even though I'm an Empire player.

Second, The MTV Movie Awards Star Wars Parody.

That line "what's a sith?" "a sith" "that's a pretty nasty lisp you got there." yea...

But anyway, stay frosty.

Star Wars The Old Republic Thoughts So Far

So I took my time to play TOR, and I must say I really enjoy it so far. I am a level 27 Sith Marauder, running around dual wielding Light Sabers is quite fun.

I find myself immersed in the story line, to the point I tend to be skipping stuff which isn't part of my main line, which I shouldn't be really. I get myself into trouble by moving on too quickly then things get a bit hard, but that's ok, I love a challenge.

There are a few things I would like seen too, the optimisation isn't great... I'm playing a game which doesn't appear to have amazing gfx, I'm fine with that (I've been playing wow this whole time obviously) But the thing that gets me is how badly it runs on my PC. For something like this I expect to be able to run it fine, but obviously not. I'm taking a few steps to improve performance without upgrades as I'm quite broke so can't get a new PC.

Other than that these are a few things I'd like to see or bothering me. Some big, some petty.

-Auto Attack. I'd like to see some kind of Auto Attack for melee classes, If I mess up and end up spamming something I don't have any rage for, I don't do anything at all. I think white hits shouldn't be on a key.

-Target of Target. I'd like to be able to see what's targeting what.

-UI Scale. My UI is huge compared to my screen.

-More Camera options. This may seem silly, the reason for some of the things I'm listing are because of what I have in wow... But, little things like how the camera will reset to follow after I change angle and let go while running. Also the Zoom in and out feels like there is too much of a gap in between each scroll of the mouse. I know I'm fussy.

-Targeting feels strange. Sometimes I find myself targeting the dead mobs instead of the ones I'm trying to kill, I guess this is something I'm doing wrong.

-UI customisation in general... If we had an addons folder it would be amazing... There are things I miss a lot from wow, which I would like to have to make my life feel more at home. Also I wan't to stare at a dps meter instead of focusing on what I'm supposed to be doing.

But really, it's early days. We have a lot to see soon, keep up the good work Bioware. I'm really excited to reach max level, and look forward to new patches to see what you bring in. Just wish my PC was better, looks like something I'm going to have to invest in when I can.

On another note, I have cancelled my Warcraft subscription, and if all goes well in TOR, I won't be going back.

Star Wars The Old Republic

So some time in the week I'll be receiving my copy of Star Wars, I'm quite looking forward to it, so I'm thinking I might write a review after I've given it a little bit of a play, maybe make some videos.

It also seems to be Christmas, which I only recently realised when a massive tree appeared in Orgrimmar... What a mess, I hate this city. But anyway the point there is that I might be busy, I might not be. But I definitely want to get a decent go at SWTOR.

SW:TOR And The Impending Death Of WOW

Ok so Star Wars: The Old Republic is out soon, I believe some people are already on the game in pre release?

The things that bring me into a game like this the most is community. So where do I go from here? First off the game allowed you to create guilds pre release. Set up alliances and what not, which means players I have met in WOW may end up sorta in the same place, I know of 2 guilds on one server which I also have been in both in my past on wow. This is great for me, I'll definitely roll on that server, but then I see they are opposing factions. So this confuses me now, because I'm unsure how the contact works in the game.

In wow you have Horde and Alliance. You can't speak to the opposite faction unless you have their real id. In TOR I have no idea what its going to be like, I haven't done enough research, I'm trying to let the game surprise me if you get what I mean?

Another thing that does worry me is that EA have a long history of dropping servers. So say come a couple years down the line and I'm still playing, the servers go down. What then? If I get as attached to my characters as I have with my Wow characters it could be devastating.

And now onto Wow, Blizzard introduced Pandas at Blizzcon this year... They also introduced epically terrible talent trees and class changes. I believe this will kill wow, the response isn't great, and my personal response wasn't great either. Never have I been so reluctant to buy something since someone offered to sell me a bag of turd.

I think personally if Blizz wan't to make players happy, release these classic servers people have been asking for since the dawn of BC. I see threads every day about it, and they just say no. Now we are saying no to Pandas, what are they going to do? I think with classic servers they will at least salvage some subs.

Youtube and Adsense

So here we are, I'm going to rant about something.

I got a message on youtube claiming that I could earn profit from my videos. Except I need an adsense account. I already applied for one a long time ago but got rejected for who knows what reason. Which means now when I try to set this up I get:

"The specified email address is already in use. If you own this AdSense account, please go back and choose 'Use Existing Account' instead."

So I go to existing account but it says I'm previously declined.

So I figure ill apply again using this as my site? you think that will work? maybe.
